Carmel, Ind. --- Phired Up Productions is excited to announce the addition of Erin Chatten as Research Director. Chatten will join Research Associate, Dr. Colleen Coffey-Melchiorrie, on May 1, 2016 to continue to research and answer important questions related to fraternity/sorority growth, member retention, and why people do or don’t join.
An alumna of Oakland University, Chatten joined Alpha Delta Pi and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Studies with a minor in Biology and Communication. As part of her undergraduate experience, Chatten served as the Vice President of Recruitment for her Panhellenic Council and was named Greek Leader of the Year, among other leadership positions and accomplishments. Chatten completed her Master’s program at Oakland University where she will earn her degree in Higher Education and Leadership in May.
Chatten, who for the last three years served Phired Up as an intern, has worked on multiple research and assessment projects for the company including assisting with the creation of the sorority recruitment counselor training guide, executing research for Phired Up’s proprietary Retention & Engagement Study, as well as research focused on what members wished they knew before joining a fraternity/sorority.
“Erin is an ideal candidate to lead the future of Phired Up’s Research efforts. She has ample experience executing research – much of which she learned with us, and a deep passion for the fraternity and sorority experience,” said Jessica Gendron Williams, Phired Up’s CEO. “Erin exemplifies the values of the company, has a deep love for the fraternity/sorority experience, and has an unbelievable ability to build relationships – a quality important in our work and in research. I couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to the team.”
“I have never in my life experienced such a dynamic team of individuals who made me feel so at home, but who also inspire me to work toward what I’m passionate about,” said Chatten when asked why she decided to join the Phired Up team.
Chatten has a variety of research projects she will begin to tackle this summer. She continued, “Having research in the fraternity/sorority community is vital. Asking important questions like ‘How can we be better?’ or ‘What can we do to make a bigger impact?’ can help our organizations evolve and grow into what they were always meant to become. I can’t wait to get started.”
