FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Carmel, Ind. --- Abby Ford will join the Phired Up Productions team in a full-time role this summer as an Organizational Growth Expert. Previously, Abby has served Phired Up in a part-time role speaking to sorority women across the country while finishing her graduate studies. This experience has prepared her to hit the ground running when she begins her full-time role on June 1, 2018.
“We’ve known Abby since the time she was an undergraduate sorority leader and have always been impressed with her leadership, drive, and creativity,” said Phired Up’s CEO, Jessica Gendron Williams. “Her sorority experience was shaped in many ways through the work we did with her sorority community and her sorority. She’s been a natural fit from day one.”
Abby is a graduate of Florida State University, where she became a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. While at Florida State, she served as a recruitment counselor and as the Vice President of Membership for her Panhellenic council. Abby will earn her Master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University – Bloomington this May.
During her time at IU, Abby has served the fraternity and sorority community as an advisor for 15 chapters across four councils (IFC, MGC, NPHC, and PHA). A skilled facilitator and trainer, Abby has facilitated countless programs, including the Alcohol Skills Training Program, Fraternity & Sorority 101 – 401 (IU’s 4-year educational model for affiliated students), Critical Conversations (for Pi Beta Phi), and Risk Management & Accountability workshops. She also joined IU’s Panhellenic Circle of Sisterhood Trek to Nicaragua in 2017.
“Abby’s smile lights up a room. Her compassion and kindness tell you she really cares about you and this work. Her spirit sparks creativity She is able to inspire, motivate and educate young women in her authentic way that changes minds and hearts about recruitment and what it could be,” Gendron Williams said about Abby joining the team. “I know she will have a significant impact on the students she works with - but also who we are as a company and who we are striving to be.”
When she’s not busy working with the fraternity and sorority community at IU, Abby enjoys working out at OrangeTheory Fitness, watching college football (while cheering on Florida State), and spending time with friends.
When asked why she’s excited to join the Phired Up team full-time this summer, Abby said, “Having "grown up" in Phired Up through my time at FSU, it is surreal that I will be joining the Phamily that impacted my undergraduate sorority experience and continues to impact my professional career. I believe that the fraternity and sorority experience, when done right, can be extremely impactful and life changing. Now, more than ever, we find ourselves striving to do better and create positive experiences for our current, future, and alumni fraternity and sorority members. I am overwhelmed with excitement to join a team of incredibly passionate humans at Phired Up, and for the opportunity to continue to engage with students, professionals, alumni and advisors in combined efforts to make the fraternity and sorority experience the best it can be.”
Please help us welcome Abby to the team by sending her an email at Abby@PhiredUp.com.
